by E. James - May 02, 2007

Hispanic Library Posters

The Tyler Public Library is beginning to create a series of reading motivational posters that highlight local celebrities and community leaders. Produced in cooperation with the American Library Association, the first in the series of READ posters will “star” leaders of the Hispanic community, including Angela Correa and Alex Hernandez, president and past president of the Hispanic American Association of East Texas, and Gus Ramirez, owner of Tyler’s El Charro restaurants and a former city councilman.

Upcoming posters in the new series will spotlight Per Brevig, music director and conductor of the East Texas Symphony Orchestra, and Kim Tomio, curator of the Tyler Museum of Art. The posters will be displayed in the Library, as well as in local businesses and community organizations.
