Our Mission

Our mission is to demonstrate leadership through vocations, beliefs and actions. Additionally, the group seeks to promote awareness and to cultivate an environment of multicultural and multiracial unity through participation in various phases of society.

Unity - ETHLC hopes to cultivate an environment of multicultural unity by increasing Hispanic participation in various phases of the Tyler community. Examples would include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Education
  • Civic (City, County and State)
  • The Tyler Area Chamber of Commerce
  • Community Involvement

We also seek to maintain a relationship through on-going communication, shared responsibilities and participation with all community leaders of all cultures, race and ethnicity.

Vocation - ETHLC believes that certain aspects of leadership are demonstrated through our vocation. This would include, but would not be limited to attendance, punctuality, honesty, commitment, performance and acceptance of responsibility.

Beliefs - ETHLC will always maintain the highest ethical standards of integrity and fairness. Each decision made by the group will be based on a core set of beliefs that are grounded in our faith, compassion and love for our community.

Actions - ETHLC will consider and take only actions that benefit the community as a whole. All actions will be weighed or measured based on core beliefs. No action will be taken by individual members without consensus of the group.

Promote Awareness - ETHLC will promote awareness by facilitating communication to overcome barriers and encouraging exchange.

Participation - Join us in opening the doors of equality to hearts and minds as we work together to make a difference in learning and in life for the betterment of our community.
